Recently somebody asked me how many qualifications and post nominals I had. I replied that I don’t know – I’ve lost track. That’s why I’m building a new wall. Through my solicitors I’ve approached the owners of our building, Davenport community council, to extend my wall into the adjoining lane-way in order for me to display my certificates. I know definitely that my Masters degree and my current Public Practise license from CPA Australia are languishing out the back of my office with my spare stationery but goodness knows what else is out there.
One of my qualifications is particularly broad and by broad I don’t mean comprehensive I mean literally physically wide – including the frame it is 46 cm across. It has actually been superseded by a more modern and narrower certificate from when the securities institute merged into FINSIA so I could change it over. However, I prefer the old one because older is better as far as membership certificates are concerned and also because it pre-dates the time we let bankers into the organisation which obviously lowered the tone of the whole show.
